Spiral Dynamics is the foundation for understanding
adaptive Values Intelligence (VQ) and Emergent Insights Change Management
approach. Spiral Dynamics is based on the life work of Professor
Clare W. Graves whose pioneering research exposed a spiral of human
development, value systems and thinking styles. The worldviews described
in Spiral Dynamics have been described as 'our psycho-social and
organisational DNA.'
Spiral Dynamics is a major breakthrough management
approach and is essentially about value systems, complexity and
change. It provides a means to:
- Recognise and understand the varying perspectives, value systems
and thinking styles within people and evident in our business
environments;
- Gain a deep understanding of differing worldviews – the
motivators, identifying features and the dynamics between the
different worldviews;
- Understand how different people are likely to respond to their
changing conditions of existence;
- Effectively manage both internal and external change in an
increasingly complex organisational world; and,
- Assist leaders to more effectively manage diverse teams in
a complex environment.
The Workshop
This workshop will introduce you to the work of Clare
W. Graves and the Spiral Dynamics model. The workshop will include:
- An overview of the Spiral Dynamics model;
- A detailed examination of the Spiral Dynamics worldview descriptions;
- Examination of the nature of the emergent, cyclical, double
helix Spiral Dynamics model;
- Recognising different thinking and reasoning patterns and the
adaptive nature of VQ;
- How each worldview prefers to change – their motivators
and de-motivators;
- The potential for change and the varying conditions and types
of change;
- The Spiral Dynamics Change Model – the stages of change;
and,
- The nature of the transitions for the most common worldviews.
This one day workshop will change the way you view
yourself and the world around you – it will not look quite
the same again – you will gain a much deeper understanding.
Delivered for a specific organisation, it is beneficial to add a
second day to address and workshop (with a selected team) the specific
issues and change strategies impacting the organisation. In addition,
individual and team value systems assessments and private personal
coaching can be provided to anchor the approach within a person's
development pathways.
Both Allen and Chris Stewart, the presenters, completed
their certification training with Christopher Cowan who is co-author
of the book 'Spiral Dynamics – Mastering Values, Leadership
and Change.' For several years Emergent Insights has followed the
development of Spiral Dynamics within Integral theory and practice.
The insights contained in this workshop are NOT available
in other books or articles. While the basic Spiral Dynamics model
is available, both Allen and Chris bring a wealth of training and
experience in applying the model in a range of domains, including
project management, strategic foresight, change management and strategic
communications.
