Josh has diverse experience across areas encompassing
project management and systems-focused analysis and problem-solving
gained through working as a mechanical engineer in the metallurgical
industry over a period of ten years. This has been complemented
more over the past four years by work with a range of community
and third-sector organisations. Josh has worked extensively in cross-cultural
settings, both in engineering and community-based roles, with a
particular focus on India and China.
This background forms the foundation for Josh's more
recent shift into the sustainability field as a consultant and educator.
Josh brings this sustainability focus, framed by a deep strategic
foresight perspective but with the practical grounding of an engineer,
to Emergent Insights range of organisational development services.
Josh also brings an understanding of the dynamics of organisational
systems across cultures and nationalities, and an interest in the
application of systems thinking and social construction to the development
of organisations.

Josh's recent experience includes:
- Extensive engineering technology transfer and training; industrial
systems commissioning;
- Strategic foresight research and analysis consulting for organisations
in government, corporate and community sectors; and,
- Close relationship with the National Centre for Sustainability
(NCS) at Swinburne Univeristy of Technology, developing and delivering
subjects in NCS’s Graduate Certificate in Sustainability
including Energy for the Future and Principles of Sustainability.
