Alex Burns is the Editor of Disinformation®. He is completing a Masters of Science in Strategic Foresight at Swinburne University's Australian Foresight Institute and beginning an Masters in Counterterrorism and Security Studies at Monash University (ABC story). In 2004 he was a researcher for the 'Internet 2010' project with the Smart Internet Technology CRC, working with Australia's influential media scholar Trevor Barr. He is an adviser to Australia's annual National Student Media Conference.

Alex was a research intern at the Australian Foresight Institute (2002-2004), and Contributing Editor (1996—1998) with the late 21C Magazine. He is affiliated with the US-based National Values Center, the Integral Institute, and the International Paleopsychology Project. He is a regular speaker on media, political and youth issues at the This Is Not Art and Straight Out of Brisbane festivals.

Alex brings a wealth of interdisciplinary knowledge in intellegence gathering and analysis, and a deep knowledge of media communications to Emergent Insights.
